Sabudane ki Khichdi

If you are a typical bihari by taste(food), you might not have heard about sabudana khichdi. When it comes to sabudana, in bihar people are used of preparing kheer during their fast.we will talk about that in my next blog. I ate it during my engg. hostel days & in no time it became one of my favourite. Hope, it does the same for you. So, here is how I prepare it.

U will need: 2 cups of large-sized sabudana,1 potato(peeled & finely chopped in small squared pieces),15-20 groundnuts, 2 tbspn finely chopped coriander leaves,11/2 tbspn mustard oil,1 tspn jeera, 1 green chilli, salt.

Soak sabudana for 2-3 hours. Drain & keep aside.Cut the chilli in half N slice it from middle. Crush the groundnuts in a mortar.
Heat kadai well.Add oil.Add jeera. Add green chilli. Add potato. keep the cooking stove at a medium flame.cook for next 3-4 minutes. Add salt.Add crushed groundnuts. Now add sabudana & keep stirring. With in 1-2 minutes, sabudana mix will start leaving kadai surface.switch off the stove. add coriander leaves. cover the kadai. Serve after two minutes.

Tip of the Day: Mix poatao mash, crushed groundnuts, coriander leaves, green chilli & salt.Use boiled potato for this. Make small balls out of this mixture & flatten them like tikki. Deep fry them.Enjoy your sabudana tikki with whatever chutney you like.
