Tamatari Matar

Sometimes...U just don't wanna step out of the house...Well this weekend was one of them. Hence..No grocery shopping..
So, yesterday when I thought of cooking, the most promising option was green peas.
I have nt thought of writing this post but when a friend from work asked How I made it..I decided to jot it down here, as she loved it.

U will Need: A bowl of Green Peas, 1 medium Carrot, 2 medium sizedTomatoes, 1 medium sized onion, 1 tspn coriander powder, 2 tspn red chilli powder, 1 tspn turmeric powder, 1 tspn garam masala powder, 1 tbspn ginger-garlic paste, 2 dry red chilli, 2 piece of bay leaves, 2 tspn  jeera, Cooking Oil & Salt.

Boil matar for 5 minutes. Wash & Keep aside. Peel the carrot & onion. Chop the carrot as well as tomatoes separately. Chop the onions in long pieces.
Now heat the pan. Add oil. Add jeera, dry red chilli & Bay leaves in heated oil. Add Onions.
When Onions changes colour, add carrots. Saute it for 2 minutes.Keep the flame to medium. Add
Ginger-garlic paste.  Add all the spices. Saute for a minute. Add Tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes uncovered. keep stirring once in a while. Add matar. Reduce the flame to low. Mix it well. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add  a cup of boiling water. Cover the pan. Cook for next 5-8 minutes.
You are ready to serve.

Tip Of the Day: Don't boil matar if u r using fresh green peas.  Also, U can add chopped fresh coriander leaves at the end, after adding boiling water. I had run out of them.
