Baingan Bhaja

I used to practically hate brinjal except its 'bharta', used to because now I dont hate them courtesy my half-life who on the contrary loves them.
As he knows very well, I have never cooked baingan in any other form except bharta, he asked if I know how to prepare baingan bhaja. Hearing the name for the first time, I did nt have a clue. Then He tried to explain me & what I understand was that it was some form of tawa fry. So, I thought to try it once & if it does nt turn out well, I will learn later from some one who knows. But, it turned out well & i thought to share with all of you. Yesterday, I made it again & in time I remembered to get it clicked (yeah , I got myself a camera).

U will need: 1 small brinjal, 1 tspn turmeric powder, 1 tspn jeera powder, 1 tspn black pepper powder, 2 tspn red chilli powder, salt, Oil.

Wash the brinjal. Slice the brinjal as shown above. 1 Brinjal will give 5-6 slices. Spread in a plate. Add all the spices & saltin a way that it sprinkle on every slices. Leave it for 15-20 minutes.
Heat tawa. Add a little oil. Place the slices on tawa. Add oil if required.Turn baingan over. Add oil. Cook it on slow to medium flame. Serve it hot.

Tip of the Day: Use small baingan(they are seedless, hence taste well). Use mustard oil.
